I just looked in on my youngest and in his sleep he was mumbling red and yellow and orange and green pineapple. OK i do not know what pineapple has to do with colors but he does. This wonderful and engaging book was so perfect for our bedtime story's. Even the older one who has declared himself beyond such things loved it and was intent on the story. For me it was a true and priceless treasure as i got out of the hospital late today and my time is limited. To the author and illustrator you have given a valuable gift of priceless treasure to all of us. You are helping my kids to become self actualized people. My wife read this ahead of time and we both teared up a bit with anticipation. So our kindest and sincerest thank you. And now i am off to load this to the children's kindles. I've been thinking about my granddaughter when was looking for some children book. She is not speaking English yet and I have very complicated relationships with her mother (my daughter), you know how it can be-right?
And suddenly I discovered this book. It is so colorful and written with such love and it just made me think that all will be all right when I will send this book to my granddaughter as a gift. Thank you, Einat, for such a great opportunity.
I buy my 3-year-old and 6-year-old children many storybooks. I would rather that they read and appreciate literature at an early age than to be in front of the television the whole time. I am glad I came across this book because it's gives children an interesting way of seeing the world and finding adventure in it. I like the way the story is written and the illustrations match perfectly with the story.
It's a blast to read! The kids are going to love it. Mine did. He's 7 but still loves bed time stories. We read this one last night. I first and later he did as he has to read a book every night. Wonderful illustrations especially the one at the end. This is exactly what any young child will like. Fun, and we actually ended up drawing some too after we read together. I give this book high marks all the way around!
This book gives young children an introduction of the necessity to live life to the fullest. Too often, people get stuck in a rut. They do the same exact thing everyday. Making matter worse, it is often human nature to surround ourselves with like minded people. The protagonist in this book has an epiphany after a butterfly lands on his painting. At that moment, his views of life changed. He took action instead of letting life continue on its boring course.

As the man gradually notices and adds other colors, he steps beyond his familiar world. As he gradually gets braver, he meets and confronts his fear of change.
